Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu has been named the sexiest Asian woman in the world 2007 by a leading London-based asian daily.Legendary bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit, 42, was the runner-up while last year’s winner Priyanka Chopra, 25, was placed third by the daily.





The top ten women are, Bipasha Basu, Madhuri Dixit, Priyanka Chopra, Aishwarya Rai, Laila Rouass, Shilpa Shetty, Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor, Lara Dutta and Iman Ali.
Brit babes on the 2007 list include Laila Rouass (5), Amrita Hunjan (20), Sophie (33), Pooja Shah (36), Konnie Huq (40) Mia (42) Parminder Nagra (43), Selina Soopramanien (47) and Anjlee Desai (48).

It is the third time that that the daily has published a list of 50 sexiest Asian women.The 2005 winner was also Bipasha.



Commenting on her selection, the 28 year old said, “I’m glad I got the crown back and will try and hold onto it this time. I think sexiness goes beyond just looks and is a total package, from your personality to the way you carry yourself in your every day life. I’m really grateful to whoever voted for me because I work very hard.”






Bipasha will next be seen on the silver screen in ‘Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal’, alongside her real life beau John Abraham.
Hamant Verma, editor of the daily and founder of its sexiest Asian women in the world list, said, “Bipasha Basu is a living embodiment of sexual attractiveness. Her acting ability, beauty and charm are capable of arousing great interest in her from the world’s media.”

SHILPA SHETTY ; lost in UK

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty’s musical Miss Bollywood has been canceled yet again, after being severely panned by critics.However, the reason being given for the sudden termination is the actress’ ill health.The 32-year-old actress was forced to open her musical in Germany after she failed to receive any financial backing from London’s West End.

Her musical suffered a series of obstacles since its premiere, including harsh critical reviews, costume malfunctions and poor ticket sales.The Celebrity Big Brother winner was due to perform in Cardiff on Nov 9 but didn’t turn up after succumbing to an unknown illness.

“Shilpa has been ill all week and it on a course of antibiotics. She needs to take a rest,” her tour organizer, Farhath Hussain, said.

Sonali to become nude for "Stragers"

In the film STRANGERS, presented by SAHARA ONE’s Motion Picture Sonali Kulkarni has done the unimaginable. Sonali Kulkarni who has always got this girl next door image, has shed her inhibition and has dared to shoot semi nude in a bath tub.

Sonali Kulkarni thus joins the gang of Bollywood damsels like Mallika Sherawat, Neha Dhupia & Kareena Kapoor’s controversial backless shot in their respective films.

According to a sources in the STRANGERS unit, director Anand Rai felt that it was a very emotional scene in a bath tub, and it was essential for the scene to be shot. He had also informed Sonali about the semi-nude scene since it was an integral part of the film. Initially he was a bit apprehensive if Sonali Kulkarni would do the scene but to his surprise, Sonali being very professional and accommodating agreed to expose, since it was a requirement in the script. However the director ensured that only the minimal people required shooting the film were present for the particular scene,

The sources add that director Anand Rai incorporated the scene in STRANGERS, since it takes the story ahead. They were no intention to add sleaze since the film is not based on sleaze but a shocking tale of the protagonist being STRANGERS in their respective marriages.


SAHARA ONE’s MOTION PICTURE were so impressed by the film that it bought the rights and will be presenting STRANGERS.
